Taste of Syracuse
Where: In and around Clinton Square
When: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8.
Admission: free; food and drink available for purchase
Details: Dozens of vendors offer $1 samples and larger plates of food representing the breadth of local restaurants and food producers. Newcomers to the event this year include Dolce Vita, El-Sinchi's Peruvian Cuisine, Jolime Café, Perfectly Pickled Products, Weber's Mustard, and Chobani yogurt. Entertainment includes and Marshall Tucker band (Friday) and Voice of the Wetlands All Stars and Loverboy (Saturday).
St. Sophia's Greek Cultural Festival
Where: St. Sophia's Greek Othodox Church, 325 Waring Road, Syracuse, NY 13224
When: June 6, 7, 8, and 9
Admission: free; food and drink available for purchase
Details: Four days of spanakopita, souvlaki, pasticchio, lamb kabobs - and don't forget the baklava. All accompanied by spirited Greek music and dancing.
Tipp Hill Beer Festival
Where: Tipperary Square, next to Coleman's Authentic Irish Pub, 100 S.Lowell St.
When: 5 to 10 p.m. June 29.
Admission: Advance tickets are $35, available at upstateshows.com, The Sound Garden and Coleman's.
Details: Beer samples will be poured from more than 30 local, regional, national and international breweries. Music is by The Mere Mortals and Dark Hollow.
St. Elias Middle Eastern Cultural Festival
Where: St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, 4988 Onondaga Road.
When: Friday, July 19 through Sunday, July 21
Admission: free; food and drink available for purchase
Details: The Middle Eastern Cultural Fest dates to 1937, when it quickly became one of the social highlights for the Arab-speaking community in Central New York.
Today, it's where you head to sample the best in kibbe, shawarma, kebabs, grape leaves and spinach pies, not to mention baklava, harisseh and other delectable pastries. There's Arabic music and dancing, too.

Empire Brewfest
Where: Clinton Square
When: 5:30 to 10 p.m., Friday, July 19
Admission: $35 for advance general admission; $15 for advance mini wine trail; $45 and $25 at the gate (if available). Designated drivers $5.
Details: The Empire Brewfest offers beer samples from dozens of breweries, along with food available for purchase. New this year is a mini wine trail, with five wineries offering samples. Music by Stone Row and Searson.
Finger Lake Wine Festival
Where: Watkins Glen International Raceway
When: July 12, 13 and 14
Admission: One Day Taster pass: Advance $30/Pre-Event $35/Gate $40
Saturday or Sunday. Two Day Tasters pass: Advance $40/Pre-Event $45/Gate $50 Saturday and Sunday. Designated Driver pass: Advance $15/Pre-Event $15/Gate $15 Good for Saturday or Sunday. Special children's rates.

Details: The largest wine-centric event in the Finger lakes promises to bring more than 90 wineries and 100 non-wine vendors, including restaurants. Special features within the festival include wine seminars, chef's cooking demos and other culinary events.
